Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu: In a proactive step towards strengthening policing and ensuring election preparedness, C. Madan, Superintendent of Police of Thoothukudi district, conducted surprise inspections across multiple police stations on March 27, 2026.
The inspections covered stations at Murappanadu, Seydunganallur, Srivaikuntam, Athur, and Thoothukudi North, where the SP thoroughly reviewed records and official documents. In view of the upcoming Assembly elections, he issued clear instructions to personnel regarding their duties and responsibilities during the electoral process.
Emphasizing citizen-centric policing, the SP directed officers to treat the public with courtesy, promptly address complaints, and actively spread awareness about the importance of voting. He also encouraged citizens to report any election-related violations without hesitation by contacting the District Police Election Control Room.
This initiative reflects the department’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and ensuring a free, fair, and peaceful electoral environment.
