<![CDATA[A Team of 20 officers from the Delhi Police Crime Branch stormed the hideout in Sahibabad and rescued five-year-old in late-night operation. At 12.30 a.m. on Tuesday, a group of 20 men in civil dress arrived at the main gate of Shalimar City society, Sahibabad, in several cars. Introducing themselves as officers from the Delhi Police Crime Branch, they instructed the security guards to submit their mobile phones and shut down the intercom network. All entry and exit gates of the society were sealed, said the society security supervisor. A team of police officers armed with sophisticated weapons was being led by one of the accused (Nitin) reached Flat No. 505 located on the fifth floor of Ebony B-block. They knocked on the iron gate fitted with mesh sheet behind which there was a wooden gate. A kidnapper opened the wooden door to answer while the iron gate remained locked. The policemen, wearing bulletproof jackets and arms in hand, warned them and asked them to open the gate. But, a man inside the flat opened fire on the police team. Fortunately, the bullet pierced the iron gate and hit the wall behind the policemen. At this, the police too retaliated in which two of the kidnappers were injured. The police then broke open the iron gate and entered the flat. The child was recovered from the bedroom of the flat and was taken away by the police team, an officer who was part of the rescue operation said. The rescue operation finished in just seven minutes. Except a few, all the policeman left the society with the child and two injured men, said Paras Singh, a security guard. The security guards deployed at the main gate told that after the encounter, a policeman came to their security room and took away the DVR of CCTVs installed at the main gate. They also took the DVR of CCTVs installed in lifts. Meanwhile, maintaining secrecy of the rescue operation, Uttar Pradesh police officials were not informed about it. The residential society falls under the jurisdiction of Sahibabad police station but they were kept out of loop during the operation. After the encounter, Sahibabad police registered an FIR under IPC Section 307 and 353 on the complaint of Delhi Police.]]>
