Theni, Tamil Nadu: In a major anti-tobacco enforcement drive, Theni District Police destroyed 8,884 kg of seized tobacco products following court orders.
Under the direction of District Superintendent of Police Dr. B. Sinehapria, police have been actively carrying out operations against illegal tobacco sales and smuggling across the district. So far, 407 cases have been registered and a total of 12,207 kg of tobacco products have been seized.
The District SP warned that strict legal action will continue against those involved in the sale and transportation of banned tobacco products.
The initiative reflects the department’s commitment to public health and law enforcement.
