Bengaluru City, Karnataka: Hebbal Police Station busted a major MDMA drug trafficking network and seized 17.4 kilograms of MDMA valued at approximately ₹34 crore. Eight accused, including three foreign nationals, were arrested in connection with the case.
According to police, the accused allegedly transported drugs from Delhi to Bengaluru by train and distributed them within the city. The narcotics were reportedly concealed inside furniture, dress materials, ironing tables, and gift packages to evade detection.
Police intercepted the accused while they were transporting drugs in a Hyundai Venue car and initially seized 4.3 kilograms of MDMA. Further investigation and raids conducted at residences in Sarjapur and Hennur led to the recovery of additional quantities of MDMA, taking the total seizure to 17.4 kilograms.
Investigators stated that the network functioned through a multi-stage supply chain involving suppliers, transporters, and local peddlers operating across different regions.
Police have continued the investigation to identify other persons connected to the drug trafficking network and to trace the larger supply chain.
