Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu: Near Vagaikulam in the Nanguneri area of Tirunelveli district, while police personnel led by Inspector Subramanian were conducting a vehicle inspection, they stopped and searched a car occupied by five individuals: Ayyappan (39) and Murugan (44) from Marugalkurichi; Isakkidurai (24) and Vanumamalai (41) from Nanguneri; and Chellathurai (46) from Thambupuram. The search revealed that they had stockpiled government-banned tobacco products intended for sale. Consequently, the Police Inspector registered a case, arrested all five individuals, seized approximately 49 kilograms of tobacco products and the car from their possession, and is currently initiating legal proceedings.
