Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu: Caesar, a sniffer dog with the Tirunelveli District Police, had made significant contributions to the force by effectively performing key duties, including criminal investigations, evidence detection, and the discovery of explosives and narcotics. Caesar passed away while undergoing treatment for a sudden illness, a loss that has deeply saddened the police personnel. To honor Caesar’s service, the dog was laid to rest with state honors—including a 24-gun salute—in accordance with police traditions. During the final tribute ceremony, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Prohibition Enforcement Wing) Chandran, along with personnel from the sniffer dog squad and the Armed Reserve, laid floral wreaths and paid tribute to Caesar’s service.
