<![CDATA[The police of the Cyberabad Commissionerate, in letters addressed to the Crime Investigation Department (CID) of 25 States, are set to seek help in establishing the identity of a woman in her advanced pregnancy, whose dismembered body was stuffed in two gunny bags and dumped near the Botanical Garden near Kondapur, on January 30. Unable to ascertain the identity of the woman, the police have decided to seek the CID’s help, based on the presumption that she might not be from either of the Telugu States. The police officer associated with the investigation told that based on the jewellery recovered from her body, we suspect that she is a North Indian middle-class woman. Her toe rings bore signs of the North Indian style. The police suspect the woman could be from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh or Odisha. A police constable will hand over the letter to the chiefs of CID in those States in person, the investigator told. Presently, more than 80 policemen, right from constable to the Commissioner, are directly investigating the case, a senior police officer told, adding that a group has been created on a popular messaging platform for better coordination and it was named ‘Operation Botanica’. The Cyberabad police are also seeking the help of various investigation agencies to enhance the video footages of the surveillance cameras in the area. The Police are not sure whether the woman, who visited Udipi hotel in Gachibowli on January 28, was the same woman who was murdered. The investigator told that the software professionals are working round-the-clock to retrieve the footages from the DVR recovered from the hotel, to get the exact image of the woman. The police have recently released a portrait of the woman, drawn by CID experts after interacting with the hotel staff and are widely circulating it. The investigator told that till now we haven’t got any concrete evidence.]]>
