Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh: On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, Bilaspur Police organised a cyber awareness programme titled “I Am a Cyber Teacher” at D.P. Vipra College as part of the Cyber Jagruti Abhiyan, under the leadership of Smt. Madhulika Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural), Bilaspur.
The programme focused on strengthening awareness among students and the wider community about the growing threat of cybercrime and the importance of responsible digital behaviour. The event also included the felicitation of teachers, recognising their valuable contribution to educating and guiding society.
NCC cadets and representatives of reputed NGOs participated in the programme, contributing to the broader effort to create a well-informed and vigilant community of digital citizens.
During the awareness session, important messages were delivered on protecting oneself from cybercrime, maintaining digital security and adopting safe online practices. Participants were encouraged to remain alert while using social media, online services and digital platforms and to exercise caution before sharing personal or financial information.
The initiative also highlighted the importance of vigilant cyber citizenship, encouraging students and members of the public to recognise suspicious online activities, avoid unsafe digital practices and responsibly report cybercrime.
By combining cyber education with the participation of teachers, students, NCC cadets and social organisations, Bilaspur Police are strengthening community-based efforts to prevent cybercrime and promote a safer digital environment.
The “I Am a Cyber Teacher” initiative reflects the Bilaspur Police’s commitment to taking cybercrime awareness directly to educational institutions and empowering citizens with the knowledge needed to protect themselves in an increasingly digital society.
