<![CDATA[A Head Constable aged 48 shot himself fatally at the Police Training College (PTC) in west Delhi’s Jharoda Kalan on Thursday night according to Police. Mr. Jitender hailed from Jhajjar village in Haryana, was on night security duty at the PTC when he allegedly shot himself with his service revolver in the duty room, they said. Jitender, who lived in Najafgarh, is survived by his wife and two children. He joined the Delhi Police in 1991 and was posted at the PTC for the past two years. A senior police officer said that other policemen on security duty at the PTC heard a gunshot around 10 p.m. on Thursday. They rushed towards the guard quarters and found Jitender lying in a pool of blood. Other security personnel took him to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. The local police was informed about the incident. No suicide note was found at the spot. “His family was informed about the incident. The body was handed over to them on Friday morning after the post-mortem. They took the body to their village for cremation,” said a police officer. “He left from home around 7.25 p.m. on Thursday and shot himself at work. Since no suicide note was recovered, we will check his call records to identify the last person he spoke to. His colleagues will also be questioned,” he said. Preliminary inquiry has revealed that he fought with his wife before leaving for work on Thursday. However, the police suspect that he was worried over some other issue. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Mr.Shibesh Singh said that his family has not approached the police suspecting foul play in his death.
