<![CDATA[The new Gurugram Commissioner of Police is Mr.K.K. Rao, Senior IPS officer who will take over on Wednesday. The 1996-batch IPS officer Mr.K.K. Rao will replace 1995-batch IPS officer Mr.Sandeep Khirwar, who has been made the Inspector General of Police (Rohtak Range). The two officers were among the eight senior IPS officers transferred by the Haryana government on Tuesday. Mr. Rao, presently posted as IGP (IRB) Bhondsi, has served as Superintendent of Police of 14 districts in Haryana. He has been a part of several encounters, and has handled major law and order situations, including the Jat reservation agitation and the aftermath following Ram Rahim’s conviction, as a special officer. Mr.Rao said that he will join on Wednesday and will spell out his priorities after he gets to know the issues facing the city. During his roughly two-year tenure as Commissioner, Mr. Khirwar emphasized on streamlining traffic management and carried out special drives to discipline auto rickshaw drivers.
