Patna: It is a great achievement for Police that they have successfully traced six persons in connection with jewellery plunder from a showroom on Monday late night, at Aparna Bank Colony, under Rupapsur police station area on June 12 and arrested them. The accused had looted jewellery worth Rs.15 lakh. SSP Mr. Garima Malik said the police recovered from the accused of the total stolen jewellery of 400 grams, 107 grams of jewellery along with 1.25Kgs of silver ornaments that were kept by the accused in different locations. The police also recovered three country made pistols including two semi-automatic weapons, 26 live cartridges, Rs.45, 000/- cash, 4 masks, 2 bikes and 9 mobile phones from their possession. This recovery was possible from the interrogation conducted with the accused and from the details the accused provided to the police during the questioning session. The accused had assembled at Nahar Road, which falls under the Rupauspur police station limit and were sketching out a plan to commit robberies at two places, which included a marble shop at Danapur. A raid was conducted on a secret piece of information in which six of the accused were caught, however some of them managed to escape. The stolen jewellery was seized from the residence of the accused, the SSP said. Mr.Malik said in another incident the same criminals while robbing a jeweler, shot at the owner, Mr.Rakesh Guptha of the jewellery shop at Anand Bazaar area under the Danapur Police station on May 31 when he raised an alarm. The accused while escaping dropped the bag filled with the stolen jewellery on the road. The accused were identified as Rajeev Singh of Amritsar, Rocky Kumar of Pethia Bazaar in Danapur, Vikas Kumar of Malsalami in Patna city, Monu Kumar and Sintu Kumar of Dalluchak in Khagaul. Some of the apprehended accused had been to jail earlier for involvement in robberies and murder cases. ]]>
