HYDERABAD: A woman hailed from Malkajgiri filed a case of dowry harassment against her husband and in-laws. She is from a low caste community but got married with a man who belongs to a high caste community. A 26-year-old pregnant woman reported police stating that she had undergone five abortions according to the demand of her husband and in-laws. They prohibited her for any child delivery since they did not want a lower-caste child because before her conversion she belonged to an SC community. On several occasion she was beaten up bitterly and even they demanded dowry from her said the police. In addition, the police officer said that the couple had gone for counselling in the month of July and had compromised the issue. Yet, the husband did not change his attitude towards her. Therefore, police have registered a case against him and his brother for the violation of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Act. ]]>
