AHEMEDABAD: Police registered a case of sexual assault of a minor girl against a man aged 21 along with charges under the POCSO Act on Saturday. In an embarrassing crime, father allegedly involved in the sexual assault of his own five year old daughter. The case had been registered after the mother of a minor informed the police. The victim’s mother is a daily wage earner in Shahpur. On Friday, she had come home lately and served food for her husband and went to bed. Around 11 pm while she got up to quench her thirst, she caught her husband who was sexually trying to abuse their daughter. The crime shocked her and she screamed. In the meantime, her husband escaped from home. Following the crime, woman alerted police and a team of Madhavpura police reached the spot. Later, she went to Police station and lodged a complaint against her husband. Police also registered a case of molestation along with charges of the POCSO (Protection of Children against Sexual Offences) Act against him. Accordingly, police traced the location of the hideout place of the accused and arrested him on Saturday. He was produced before a local court on Sunday. Police kept him under judicial custody at the Sabrmati Central jail. A medical examination conducted of the minor revealed that most probably the accused was in drunkard stage. ]]>
