MOGA: Police held a man who allegedly raped a Dalit woman at Fatehgarh Korotana village. The accused have been identified as Gurdev Singh, a resident of Bhinder Kalan village. According to police investigation, the woman worked as a labourer at a SK brick kiln in Fatehgarh village. Singh who works as a mason is the in-charge who pays daily wages. So, after the day’s work when she approached him to receive her due wage, Sing allegedly took her into temporary shelter on the premises of the kiln and raped her. Following the incident, she informed police about the crime. Police acting on her allegation arrested Gurdev and the victim was sent to hospital for medical examination. The medical examination conducted at a government hospital confirmed that she was sexually assaulted. Gurdev has been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for committing offensive crime. ]]>
