Rachakonda: The accused individuals, Nakka Lingaswamy and Shyamala Shyam Prasad, were arrested on May 23, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. and are being presented before the honorable court for judicial remand. Nakka Lingaswamy, aged 32, is the son of Salaiah and works as a driver. He belongs to the SC-Madiga caste and resides in Panthangi Village of Choutuppl Mandal. Shyamala Shyam Prasad, aged 27, is the son of Sathaiah. He belongs to the Pichakuntla caste and resides in Saidabad Village of Choutuppal Mandal.
The seized items include Rs. 10,000 in cash, one CBZ motorcycle with license plate number AP29-BK-0008, two mobile phones, a press ID card, and all these items have an approximate worth of Rs. 40,000.
The theft took place on the night of May 22, 2023, at around 9:30 p.m. at NH-65, Reddibavi Village, Choutuppal Mandal. The incident was reported on May 23, 2023, at 7:00 a.m. by the complainant Mullapudi Venkateswara Rao, who is a driver residing in Kalavalapalli (V), Chougallu (M), East Godavari (Dist), Andhra Pradesh State. The accused individuals, Nakka Lingaswamy and Shyamala Shyam Prasad, arrived on a CBZ motorcycle with license plate number AP29-BK-0008 and stopped the complainant’s Bolero vehicle with license plate number AP39-UG-572 on the NH-65 road. They falsely identified themselves as a commercial tax department official and a news reporter, respectively. They threatened and assaulted the complainant and his son, Akhil, and obtained the phone pay pin from them. They then transferred an amount of Rs. 10,000 to the mobile number 9912621293 belonging to Nakka Lingaswamy in two transactions of Rs. 5,000 each before fleeing the scene. A case was registered at Choutuppal Police Station of Rachakonda Police Commissionerate.
The arrests were carried out under the supervision of Mr. Devendra Singh Chouhan, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda Police Commissionerate, and Mr. V. Sathyanarayana, IPS, Additional Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda Police Commissionerate. The operation was conducted with the guidance of Mr. M. Rajesh Chandra, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bhongir Zone, Mr. N. Uday Reddy, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Choutuppal Division, Mr. Y. Mallikarjun Reddy, Inspector of Police, Choutuppal Police Station, as well as Sub-Inspectors Mr. D. Anil of Choutuppal Police Station and other personnel from Choutuppal Police Station.
