Bidar: At the behest of Mr. Govind Reddy, an IAS officer serving as the Deputy Commissioner, and Mr. Chennabasavanna SL, the Superintendent of Police in Bidar District, a significant incident unfolded within the confines of Basawakalyan Town Police Station. Specifically, the incident transpired at Sastapur Bungalow, situated along National Highway-65.
In this particular occurrence, a lorry was intercepted by the authorities for its transportation of government-provided PDS rice. However, what exacerbated the situation was the absence of any accompanying documentation for the consignment. The lorry, bearing a cargo of 360 bags of rice, each weighing 50 kilograms, was seized promptly by the authorities.
Of utmost concern was the fact that the confiscated rice was originally designated for distribution to the general public. The market value of the seized property amounted to a staggering sum of Rs.10,40,000. Consequently, a case was registered against the accused individuals involved in this illegal operation. The complaint was filed by Ramratan Degale, a diligent Food Inspector serving in Basawakalyan.
The diligent efforts and tireless dedication demonstrated by the officers and staff members involved in the seizure operation have received due recognition and appreciation. Their unwavering commitment to upholding the law and ensuring public welfare has been duly acknowledged.
Looking ahead, the Bidar district police remain steadfast in their pursuit of maintaining effective crime control measures. Their commitment to safeguarding the district and ensuring the safety and security of its residents will continue unabated.
