Chennai: Chennai City Additional Director General of Police (Headquarters) Mrs. Seema Aggarwal, IPS, and Greater Chennai Police Commissioner Mr. Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal, IPS, under their guidance, Mrs. H. Jayalakshmi, Deputy Commissioner of Police, CAWC, supervised the training of juvenile justice officers in the Southern Zone to follow the guidelines laid down in the Juvenile Justice Act (Care and Protection) -2015, Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act-2012 and other laws for children On 26.09.2020 the 2nd-day training was held.
The event was attended by members of the Child Welfare Committee, Mrs. Isabel, Mr. Francis Xavier, who distributed awareness banners, pamphlets, and leaflets to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and explained the procedures for child welfare police officers, Ms. Adhilakshmi, Advocate and Andrew Jesuraj, David coached on the laws and practices for children.
Also, Mrs. Shanmugapriya (Chairman-JJB), Mrs. Rekha (LPO) Mr. Andrews Abraham, Mrs. Vidya Reddy, Mrs. Suryakala (DCPO), Mrs. Tamilselvi (CWC), Mrs. Rachel, Dr. Komala attended the group discussion and discussed laws and practices for children.
Additional Director General of Police Mrs. Seema Agarwal, IPS, participated in the group discussion as part of the exercise and gave a keynote address on how child welfare police officers should work with other departments related to child welfare.
As part of the completion of the 2nd day of the training, Mrs. H. Jayalakshmi, Deputy Commissioner of Police, CAWC, thanked the officers who attended and completed the event.
