Bhopal: While issuing the advisory, Additional Director General of Police, State Cyber, Mr. Yogesh Chaudhary IPS said that phishing e-mails are sent by cyber fraudsters to various government / non-government mail ids in which it is written that your mail id has been suspended and as per the given link. You are asked to change the password through the medium. When you change the password by clicking on the link, after a while your mail gets hacked.
Shri Chowdhary said that nowadays such cyber crimes are coming to the notice in the state in which various government institutions such as police, educational institutions, medical departments, etc. and private companies are mailed by cybercriminals on their mail id in which it is written that Your email ID password has expired today.
To continue email services without any hassle, click on the link given below to create a new password. As soon as you enter and submit your email id and old password and then a new password to change the password by clicking on the link, then your email id and password are reached to the criminals, which can be misused by criminals for all your personal and personal information. One can read mail containing official correspondence and misuse it for other things as well.
In this way, many of your official documents, correspondence, confidential information reach the criminals. Apart from this, if your said email id is linked to your bank account, then it can also cause you financial loss.
Shri Chowdhary said that do not download any software believing any unknown email, it may be a virus. If you find any such phishing mail, delete it immediately. Emails received in this way appear to have been sent to us from our servers because criminals prepare them that way. While you will check the said email properly, it will be found that it is a fake email and mails have been made showing the email of your server.
Contact your email service provider and request to temporarily block email with documents like ID proof, screenshots of previous mails, inbox, etc. to prevent its misuse by hackers.
Send an email/message to all your contacts from your other alternate email account and request not to respond to emails coming from the hacked email. Write to all the service providers where your hacked email account is given as a communication address so that any request received from your hacked email id will not be entertained.
