Kolkata: The specially trained All-Woman Police Force, whose job it is to patrol the city on motorcycles and their primary aim is to keep the streets free from crimes against women, and also extend a helping hand to passers-by in need. Their journey began on this day, three years ago. Even today, hardly a day goes by without them detaining multiple people on charges of harassing women.
Whether someone is photographing women in public places on the sly, or choosing secluded spots to make obscene gestures at them, they have not managed to evade the ever-watchful eyes of the alert Women Police force. In celebration of the third birthday of this very special team, the women police are delighted to share a few glimpses of their very special day. Let those who look for opportunities to harass women know that the streets will never be safe for them as long as the Women Police are out and are watchful to nab the accused.
