DGP Mr. K.V Rajendranath Reddy IPS, today conducted a Press Conference & disclosed crime stats for 2022. Pointed up that, with support of GoAP & innovative trends in Policing, better policing with redoubled enthusiasm will be provided in 2023. Pin Points of the Conference: Due to awareness programs, implementation of PD Act, iron clad vigilance on illicit liquor and Visible Policing there is a decrease in overall crime. Crime against women has come down with implementation of Disha programs, Geo mapping of crime prone areas and supervision of women Police. Theft cases have been controlled with the use of technology, LHMS, re-organizing beats, continuous monitoring & coordination with neighbouring States. Crimes against SC/STs has come down through village visits, identification & surveillance of crime prone areas & various government Initiatives. There is an increase in cybercrime due to loan App frauds & also increase in reporting through 1930 toll free number.
75 cases of illegal loan app harassments have been registered, 80 People have been arrested through special SOP.207 Fake loan applications were identified & 173 deleted. Pendency in cases reduced with regular monitoring & effective policing, filing of charge sheets rewarding officers suitably who performed well, continuous monitoring through CCTVs. In coordination with judiciary large scale settlement of pending cases in Lok Adalats & similar approach will be continued in coming days as well. Conviction based Policing like Prosecution based approach, day to day monitoring of important cases by unit heads, creating awareness to witnesses, timely execution of NBWs, special focus on Rape & POCSO cases, filing charge sheets within 60 days increased conviction rate by 66.69%. With an objective to reduce trial time & ensuring punishment to criminals in short time, modern technology & satellite imagery is used to identify Ganja Cultivation & booked cases to curb cultivation/Transport. Under Operation Parivartana seized Cannabis in bulk and destroyed the same.
