Tirupati: On 14.7.2024 DGP Mr. Dwaraka Tirumala Rao IPS held a crime review meeting with the SSPs of the Anantapur and Kurnool Range districts in Tirupati.

He raised awareness among district police officers on crime investigation.
He highlighted the issue of innocent tribals being used to cultivate cannabis, with a 100-day action plan to eradicate this problem.
He announced the formation of Anti-Task Force (ATF) teams to combat ganja cultivation and trafficking.
He emphasized increased efforts to prevent rape attempts on minor girls.
He urged police to provide better services to citizens and uphold accountability, stressing the importance of respecting the law.
He prioritized the welfare of lower-level staff and the upgrading of vehicles.
He noted that recruitment in the department will occur soon, though it will take some time.
He commended the police for effectively dealing with challenges and encouraged skill development to enhance performance.
He mentioned that awareness programs on new laws are being conducted at all police stations.
He informed that the Red Sandal Task Force is actively working to combat red sandalwood smuggling.
