Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh: Tirupati Police have achieved a major breakthrough by cracking a ₹1.5 crore mobile phone theft case within just six days, demonstrating swift and effective investigation.
Special police teams conducted an extensive interstate operation across Jharkhand, Nagpur, and West Bengal, successfully arresting five accused before the stolen devices could be smuggled across the Bangladesh border.
Police recovered 195 mobile phones and five Apple iPads during the operation. The investigation revealed that the accused were part of an interstate theft gang targeting major mobile phone showrooms, with the stolen devices being transported towards Bangladesh and Nepal.
The rapid investigation and recovery of the stolen property prevented a major loss and dealt a significant blow to the interstate mobile theft network.
DGP Sri Harish Kumar Gupta IPS appreciated the Tirupati Police team for their swift and professional investigation, successfully cracking the Sono Vision theft case in only six days and recovering stolen property worth approximately ₹1.5 crore.
The achievement highlights the AP Police’s strong investigative capabilities, interstate coordination, and commitment to protecting citizens and bringing organized criminals to justice.
