Tirupati: In the early hours of October 3, 2023, at approximately 2:12 am, a 2-year-old boy from Chennai went missing while sleeping near the Reservation Ticket Counter at Tirupati APSRTC Bus Stand, alongside his parents. Upon receiving the parents’ complaint, Tirupati police promptly mobilized special teams for a thorough search. Surveillance footage revealed that the boy had been abducted by an individual. The police extensively shared the boy’s photo on social media and conducted an intensive search for both the boy and the abductor. Upon learning of the police pursuit, the abductor took the boy to his elder sister in Madhavamala(V) of Yerpedu(M), left the boy, and fled. Upon receiving this information, the police promptly went to the location, rescued the boy, and took the abductor into custody along with his elder sister. Additionally, several individuals of interest were detained for further investigation. DGP Mr. K.V Rajendranath Reddy IPS commended the Tirupati Police for their swift and effective response.
