Bengaluru: Karnataka Police (Internal Security Division) observed Army Day today. Mr. Bhaskar Rao IPS, ADGP, Internal Security Division was part of the 73rd Army Day celebration.
Army Day is celebrated on 15 January every year in India, in recognition of Field Marshal Kodandera M. Cariappa’s taking over as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army from General Sir Francis Butcher, the last British Commander-in-Chief of India, on this day in 1949.
This day signifies the transfer of power from the British to India, which is a very important moment in Indian history.
