New Delhi: On the occasion of the 77th Republic Day, Hon’ble President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu conferred the Ashoka Chakra, the nation’s highest peacetime gallantry award, on Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla of the Indian Air Force in recognition of his historic achievement and exceptional service to the nation.
Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla scripted history by becoming the first Indian astronaut to visit the International Space Station (ISS) and the second Indian to travel to space, marking a proud milestone in India’s space exploration journey.
The prestigious honour acknowledges his courage, dedication, and pioneering contribution, inspiring generations and reflecting India’s growing prowess in space science and technology.
