Chhattisgarh, Bastar: In a major crackdown on drug smuggling, the City Kotwali Police Station in Jagdalpur apprehended two interstate smugglers hailing from Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The duo was found in possession of 78 kilograms of ganja, which they intended to transport to their respective states for illegal trade.
Acting on intelligence inputs, the police conducted a well-coordinated operation, leading to the successful interception and arrest of the accused. In addition to the narcotics, law enforcement officials also seized five mobile phones used by the smugglers for communication and coordination. The total value of the seized property, including the ganja, is estimated to be over Rs.4 lakh.
This operation marks yet another significant step by Bastar Police in its relentless efforts to curb drug trafficking in the region. The accused are currently in police custody, and further investigation is underway to uncover the larger network involved in the smuggling racket.
