Chandigarh, Punjab, July 25: In a heartfelt gesture recognizing extraordinary courage and commitment to public service, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Punjab, Shri Bhagwant Singh Mann, personally felicitated four brave personnel from the PCR team of Bathinda Police at his official residence in Chandigarh.
The officers were honoured for their heroic act of rescuing 11 passengers from a car that had accidentally plunged into a canal. Demonstrating quick thinking, fearless action, and a strong sense of duty, the police team, along with help from local civilians, managed to safely pull out all occupants from the sinking vehicle, thereby preventing what could have been a tragic loss of lives.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister met with the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bathinda and the courageous team members, commending their selflessness, bravery, and commitment to humanity. He praised their timely intervention and reminded them of the profound responsibility that law enforcement officers carry in safeguarding public life.
“These brave officers are the pride of Punjab Police. Their act of saving 11 lives reflects not just professional excellence but a deep-rooted sense of humanity. I urge them to continue serving with the same spirit and compassion,” said CM Mann.
The Chief Minister also emphasized the importance of community-police collaboration, as local individuals played a supporting role in the rescue, reinforcing the message that together, the police and public can make a powerful difference in emergency situations.
