Jamtara: Based on a tip-off received by the Superintendent of Police in Jamtara, a meticulously planned operation was launched to address the rising issue of battery thefts from mobile towers across the district. The raid was spearheaded by both the Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Jamtara and the Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Nala, working in coordination to dismantle this organized theft ring. The operation targeted specific locations where the thefts had been taking place, and after careful surveillance and planning, the police successfully apprehended the prime mastermind behind the battery theft network, along with four of his accomplices.
During the raid, a comprehensive search led to the recovery of several stolen batteries, along with all the tools and equipment used in carrying out the thefts. These included specialized instruments designed to bypass security measures at mobile towers. The arrest of the mastermind is considered a major breakthrough in the case, as this criminal network had been causing significant disruptions to mobile services in the area.
After gathering evidence and completing initial investigations, the police formally charged the suspects. All five individuals were taken into custody and subsequently presented before the court, where they were remanded to judicial custody pending further investigation.
