BENGALURU: South Division police have arrested 17 people from Nepal in connection with three house burglaries. The accused, including women working as security guards and domestic workers, had stolen valuables from the houses of two businessmen and a retired forest officer.
Police seized valuables worth Rs 2 crore from the arrested. Also, foreign currencies, a pistol and live rounds were seized. Two incidents were reported under the JP Nagar police jurisdiction, while the other took place in Jayanagar.
A theft took place at the house of real estate Kiran and businessman Brij Bhooshan under the jurisdiction of JP Nagar police station. JP Nagar police have arrested Netra Shahi, Lakshmi Sejuvel, Gorakh Bahadur Shahi, Bhim Bahadur Shahi, Anjali, Abesh Shahi, Prashant and Prakash Shahi in connection with this Kiran house burglary case.
Kiran was alone in the house and the security guard escaped with a pistol, two magazines, three live rounds, around 1.7 kg of gold and other valuables worth around Rs 1.4 crore, police said.
At Bhushan’s house, the accused made him come to his mother and stole valuables worth Rs.25 lakhs and fled. JP Nagar police have arrested Arjun Shahi, Pooran Shahi, Harish Shahi and Ramit Thakur in this connection.
In Jayanagar police jurisdiction, the accused stole valuables from the house of retired forest officer Obedullah Khan. Five people from Nepal have been arrested in this connection.
