<![CDATA[Kolkata: A smuggler was nabbed by the personal of The Border Security Force(BSF) on Sunday and have seized from his possession silver ornaments. An information was received about a smuggling attempt by the Troops of the 153 Bn BSF, from the International check post at Gobardha, under sector headquarters Kolkata. Based on the information a special operation was carried out near the International Border close to the Panditpara village. As the operation was in progress, the personal involved in the operation partly noticed suspicious movement along the Indo-Bangladesh border and intercepted the man around 9.30am. The man was identified as Monotosh Chakravorty(50) who is a resident of the Mondalpara village in Swarup Nagar, North 24-Parganas. On making a search on him the BSF personal found silver ankles in small packetsthat weighed 1.995 Kg and was valued at Rs.58,113/-, a senior BSF officer said. The BSF personal have handed over the ankles along with the smuggler over to the Basirhat police station. An increased vigil has been initiated by The BSF’s south Bengal frontier along the international border to check smuggling. The troops of the frontier, in 2019 seized 7.435 Kg silver which was valued at Rs. 3,49,987/-. They had also apprehended three smugglers in this connection. ]]>
