New Delhi: In a proud moment for the nation, the 18th Border Security Force (BSF) Contingent (IFPU-II) is set to embark on its mission to the MONUSCO (United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission) in Beni, Democratic Republic of Congo.
The contingent, comprising 160 highly trained personnel, represents India’s unwavering commitment to global peace and stability under the United Nations banner.
Director General of BSF, Shri Daljit Singh Chawdhary, extended a warm and encouraging send-off to the team today. He lauded their dedication, discipline, and readiness to uphold India’s legacy of responsible and effective peacekeeping across the globe.
“The BSF has always stood tall—be it on the borders or on international missions. Our personnel are not just ambassadors of security, but also of compassion, courage, and professionalism,” said DG Chawdhary.
India remains one of the largest contributors to UN peacekeeping efforts, and the deployment of this contingent further reinforces the country’s pivotal role in supporting international peace and humanitarian efforts.
The 18th BSF contingent will undertake vital responsibilities in conflict management, protection of civilians, and restoration of law and order in the region—demonstrating the values of service, sacrifice, and solidarity that are the hallmark of Indian peacekeepers.
