Bhadradri Kottagudem: The District SP Mr. Sunil Dutt IPS said that strict action will be taken against those who smuggle cannabis. Speaking at a media conference SP Mr. Sunil Dutt said in Bhadradri Kottagudem district a special drive on cannabis smuggling would be organized. Cannabis exports are high, mainly from Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Orissa, Seeler, and Vizag. In Bhadradri large quantities of cannabis were seized several times while being transported across the district. A total of 106 people were found to be supplying marijuana from several states, he said, adding that history sheets were being opened against them. He said the PD Act was registered against another 20 people.
Bhadradri Kottagudem district police were constantly monitoring the cannabis smuggling and would take strict action if caught. He said it was learned that cannabis was being cultivated in crop fields in some tribal areas and the matter would be discussed with the serpents. He said a special meeting was being arranged with the DSPs of all divisions on cannabis trafficking. He said special seminars would be organized soon to discuss the impact of cannabis on students in consultation with public and private educational institutions. SP Mr. Sunil Dutt IPS asked the people of the district to immediately inform the police if they know of any sale or supply of cannabis anywhere.
