New Delhi/Ujjain, July 17: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested an officer of the Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN), Ujjain, along with a middleman, in a bribery case involving ₹3 lakh.
According to the CBI, a case was registered on 17.07.2025 based on allegations that the CBN officer had demanded a bribe through a middleman to avoid implicating the complainant and his family in a narcotics-related case.
Acting swiftly, the CBI laid a trap and caught the middleman red-handed while he was accepting ₹3 lakh from the complainant on behalf of the CBN officer. The entire bribe amount was recovered during the operation.
Following the arrests, the CBI conducted searches at three different locations in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, associated with the accused.
The matter is currently under further investigation.
