Chennai: The Chennai Police are very prompt and active in taking action from the time a complaint reaches them. In one such incidents a complaint of assault and robbery have reached the police department and the staff of the particular police station has moved into action almost immediately and have arrested one of the accused. A call taxi driver lodged a complaint with the police stating that he was assaulted and robbed of his cellphone and cash. In the investigation conducted by the police they identified the name of the driver as Tamil Selvan aged 35. In his complaint he said that two persons stopped his car and asked him to give them a ride. On his refusal they picked up an argument with him and they attacked him when he tried to contact the police. He also stated in the complaint that the two persons snatched his mobile phone and his wallet containing Rs.6, 000/- and fled the spot. During investigation the police got a video that was taken by a person which showed the driver and the two persons and the incident that took place. With the help of the video the police identified the suspects and was successful in arresting one of them. The arrested was identified as Surya, a construction laborer, the police said. ]]>
