Chennai: The Chennai City Police owing to public safety reasons issued to an Amusement Park in Chennai a stop functioning notice on an accident that occurred inside the park. A video taken by one of the visitor at the park went viral as it depicted the fall of some visitors from a height of 10 meters to the ground while they were on a ride on the famous Free Fall Tower ride at the Queensland Amusement Park. The incident occurred on Tuesday as the cable of the equipment snapped and 24 riders strapped to the seats of the famous ‘Free Fall Tower’ had a sharp fall from a height of 10 feet to the ground and sustained injuries. The Police source said no one has come forward to lodge a complaint. The source said that only through the video that went viral on social media that we came to know about the accident and further investigations are being conducted into the incident. Following the circulation of this video Nazarathpet Police Inspector Mr. Elango and revenue authorities went to the premises and held enquiries on Thursday. On conducting direct enquiries at the spot of the accident by the police and the revenue authorities, the police issued a notice to the management asking them to suspend risky rides until a stability certificate has been issued certifying that the equipment is safe to be used by the public.
