Chandigarh: The CISF and the police personal arrested a passenger at the Chandigarh International airport when they caught him carrying ammunition in his baggage on Saturday. The accused while passing through the departure scanning section was identified by the CISF personal with the possession of 13 live cartridges of .32 bore revolver. On the findings, he was detained, his baggage was checked, and the CISF and the police recovered 13 live cartridges. The Inspector Mr. Baljeet Singh said Gulam Haider Ali Quadri, a Barnala based priest and spiritual guru asserted that he owned a licensed revolver which he has deposited with the police owing to the model code of conduct and the cartridges were mistakenly left in the baggage. Police verified his claim about the licensed revolver. The Inspector said, “Though his weapon is licenced, he had no documentary evidence to support carrying ammunition in baggage”. A court remanded him to 14 day judicial custody an sent him to Patiala jail.]]>
