Andhra Pradesh: In a proactive step to safeguard coastal resources and fishermen’s livelihoods, a Special Boat Patrolling Task Force has been launched along the Andhra Pradesh coastline to prevent illegal intrusion of mechanized fishing boats from neighboring regions.
The initiative is being carried out under the guidance of Himanshu Shukla, District Collector, and Ajitha Vejendla, Superintendent of Police. The joint task force comprises officials from the Fisheries Department, Coastal Security Police, Forest Department, along with the active support of local fishermen.
Regular patrolling operations are being conducted from Juvvaladinne Fishing Harbour, ensuring the safety of fishermen, protection of fishing equipment, and preservation of marine resources.
The patrolling teams are led by Inspector Ramesh Babu of Coastal Security Police Station, Kothapatnam (Boat-1 Incharge) and Sub-Inspector A. Srinivasa Rao (Boat-2 Incharge), who are effectively supervising field operations.
This coordinated effort reflects the administration’s commitment to coastal security, sustainable fishing practices, and the welfare of the fishing community.
