Nagapattinam: A consultation and security preparations meeting for 2024 parliamentary elections was held at the Nagapattinam District Police Office under the chairmanship of Deputy Superintendent of Police Thanjavur. A special advisory and security measures meeting for the upcoming 2024 Parliamentary General Elections was held at the Nagapattinam District Police Office by Thanjavur Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr. P. Ziaul Huq IPS. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Mr. P. Ziaul Huq IPS.The meeting discussed the security aspects to be followed during the pre- and post-election periods, the proper implementation of the rules of conduct of the election, the security measures to be observed in the pre- and post-election periods, the security precautions in the districts bordering Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur. , Mayiladuthurai and Karaikal, four district police officers were advised by the Thanjavur Deputy Commissioner of Police. He instructed the police officers to keep regular vigilance in troubled and tense areas, engage in frequent patrols and policing in a manner that instils confidence in the minds of the people. They also urged to make arrangements for speedy communication in the best possible manner, to prevent the infiltration of criminals between the two states of Pondicherry and Tamil Nadu, and to get all the information related to the election in a proper manner and to take action. They also directed to set up checkposts at junctions of major roads and to appoint necessary police officers in tense and troubled areas and take up security from now on. They advised the policemen to be engaged in regular patrolling. He also directed to execute the pending non-bailable warrants immediately. They also directed to find out the problem persons and take proper precautions against them. District Police Superintendents and Police Officers from four districts namely Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai and Tiruvarur Karaikal participated in this special event.
