Delhi, March, 10 ,: —- Delhi Police Cyber Cell has filed a chargesheet in the Bully Boy, Sully Deal Apps case. The Delhi Police Cyber Prevention Awareness & Detection Center (SIPAD) has named Omkareshwar Thakur and Neeraj Bishnoi as key accused in a chargesheet filed on March 4.
Bully Boy and Sully Deal are being used as online platforms to harass Muslim women. Users of these platforms placed pictures of women without their permission and conducted fake auctions. Both of these apps, hosted by GitHub, came to light last year and were shut down after women’s outrage.
The chargesheet filed by the police in this case is 2700 pages long. Of these, 2000 pages were chargesheets for the Bully Boy app and 700 pages for the Sulli Deal app.
Neeraj Bishnoi has been named as the main accused in the Bully Boy app case and Omkareshwar Thakur as the accused in the Sully Deal app case.
Omkareshwar Thakur, the creator of the open source app, was arrested on January 8 by the IFSO unit of the Special Cell. He was charged under Section 153A, 153B of the Indian Penal Code and Section 67. 354A (3) of the IT Act read out with Section 66.
Neeraj Bishnoi, who was arrested by the police from Jorhat in Assam on January 6, has been charged under sections 53A, 153B, 354A and 509 of the IPC, as per Sections 66 and 67 of the IT Act.
