Dindigul, Tamil Nadu: Mr. Jayakumar assumed office today as the 34th Superintendent of Police (SP) for Dindigul district. Following this, during a press briefing, SP Jayakumar stated that strict action would be taken against sexual offenses targeting women and children, as well as against the drug menace. He emphasized that an “iron fist” approach would be adopted against those involved in illegal activities such as cockfighting and gambling. He further announced that inspections would be conducted to ensure adequate police personnel and functional CCTV cameras are in place at check-posts along the district borders.
