Uttarakhand, Nainital: As part of the Nasha Mukt Devbhoomi 2025 campaign, the Government Railway Police (GRP) Uttarakhand organized a comprehensive awareness program at Ramnagar railway station in Nainital district. The initiative aimed to educate the general public, including passengers, railway porters, vendors, cleaning staff, and taxi drivers, on critical issues such as drug abuse, cybercrime, online fraud, and railway security.

During the awareness session, police officials highlighted the severe consequences of drug addiction, emphasizing its impact on health, family life, and social stability. They explained how substance abuse not only affects individuals but also contributes to increased crime rates and public safety concerns. The attendees were encouraged to stay away from illegal substances and actively support efforts to create a drug-free society.

In addition to drug awareness, the program also covered essential aspects of cybercrime and online fraud. Police officers provided insights into various types of cyber threats, including identity theft, financial fraud, phishing scams, and social media-related crimes. Attendees were advised on preventive measures, such as safeguarding personal information, avoiding suspicious links, and verifying online transactions before proceeding.

Furthermore, railway security was a key focus of the session. Officials informed attendees about safety protocols, the importance of vigilance in crowded areas, and the role of the public in preventing untoward incidents. Passengers and railway staff were urged to report any suspicious activities, unattended baggage, or unauthorized persons within the railway premises.

As part of the campaign, an appeal was made to the public to report any instances of drug peddling or illegal activities related to narcotics. The police assured that the identity of informants would be kept confidential and encouraged people to cooperate in making the region safer.

The Nasha Mukt Devbhoomi 2025 campaign continues to be a significant step in Uttarakhand’s efforts to combat drug abuse and enhance public safety. GRP Uttarakhand remains committed to spreading awareness and ensuring the well-being of railway passengers and the local community.
