Tirunelveli: The Tirunelveli Municipal Prohibition Enforcement Unit conducted an awareness program on the dangers of drug abuse at Satakathullah Appa College, Palayangottai, on 26th September 2024. Tirunelveli City Liquor Prohibition Enforcement Division Assistant Inspector, Jaya Shankar, addressed the students, highlighting the harmful effects of drug addiction. He emphasized that students should focus solely on their education, warning that the future of those who fall into drug addiction could be in jeopardy. He urged them to resist such habits, even if tempted by others, and to make education their priority. Jaya Shankar encouraged the students to set a positive example for future generations by steering clear of destructive behaviors. He also assured that the Prohibition Enforcement Unit will continue organizing similar awareness programs in colleges and schools throughout the city. The event saw participation from the college principal, professors, and staff.
