Port Blair: In continuation of its steadfast dedication to combat drug-related endeavors, the Anti-Narcotics Police Station in Port Blair executed a targeted operation on April 1, 2024. Acting upon specific intelligence regarding the trafficking of illicit substances through courier services, a specialized team from the Anti-Narcotics Police Station, led by Mr. Vishesh Dhatterwal, DANIPS, Dy.SP (Narcotics), CID, conducted a raid at the main Post Office in Aberdeen, Port Blair. The operation resulted in the apprehension of Mr. G Neeraj, a resident of Pongichaun, Port Blair, in possession of a parcel containing 325 grams of Ganja, which was transported from the mainland via Government postal courier services.
Mr. Neeraj, a student of B.A (Political Science) at Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyaya, Port Blair, was taken into custody. A case under the relevant section of the NDPS Act-1985 has been filed at the Anti-Narcotics Police Station, and further investigation is underway. The raid was conducted under the supervision of Mr. Rajeev Ranjan, IPS, SP (CID), A&N Islands.
