Rewa: In the ongoing campaign against illegal drugs led by Superintendent of Police Mr. Vivek Singh, Sohagi Police Station achieved a significant breakthrough by apprehending a suspect involved in the smuggling of the illicit substance, Ganja. On October 5, acting on a tip-off from an informant, Sohagi police station was alerted to a Tata company’s Indica Vista car parked alongside the road near Anganath temple, Sohagi, which was discovered to be loaded with ganja.
Acting on this information, and under the direction of Additional Superintendent of Police Mr. Anil Sonkar, Rewa, and the supervision of Sub-Divisional Police Officer Mr. Udit Mishra, the Sohagi police team successfully apprehended the suspect, identified as Sunil Kumar Pasi, 25 years old, son of Nand Lal Pasi, and a resident of village Gaura, police station Jigna, district Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh. He was apprehended along with the vehicle. Upon conducting a search of the car, a total of 52.5 kilograms of ganja was discovered and subsequently confiscated. The accused has been taken into custody, and a case under the NDPS Act has been registered for further investigation.
