Mumbai: Within the last 24 hours, as part of the ongoing Anti-Narcotics campaign in Mumbai, significant actions have been undertaken under the Anti-Narcotics Act. The law enforcement authorities have examined a total of 327 individuals, while 11 accused individuals have been apprehended. The registered crimes during this period comprise 5 cases related to Ganja, 1 case related to MD (Methylene Dioxy), and 1 case related to Koden, totaling 7 registered crimes.
In terms of drug seizures, the authorities have confiscated a substantial amount of contraband. Specifically, 1161 grams of Ganja, 8 grams of MD, and 24 bottles of Koden have been seized. These seizures represent the tangible outcomes of the campaign’s efforts to combat drug trafficking and illegal substance abuse within the city.
Furthermore, actions have been taken in accordance with the COTPA (Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act) Act. A total of 258 individuals have faced appropriate actions under this act, emphasizing the authorities’ commitment to enforce regulations pertaining to the use and sale of tobacco products.
In addition, the authorities have addressed unauthorized Pan Stalls, unauthorized hawkers, and unauthorized hawkers operating near the railway station. Specifically, 33 unauthorized Pan Stalls have been dealt with, while 231 unauthorized hawkers have faced actions in accordance with the law. Moreover, 91 unauthorized hawkers operating in close proximity to the railway station have also been targeted, reflecting the authorities’ efforts to maintain order and regulate street vending activities.
Overall, the Anti-Narcotics campaign in Mumbai has exhibited a proactive and comprehensive approach to curbing drug-related offenses and addressing various unauthorized activities that may pose risks to public safety and well-being.
