NEW DELHI: In an unprecedented incident a man being hit by his friend with a brick during a drinking session succumbed to death. The victim aged 62 have been identified as Jeevan. Police arrested the accused Mohammed Zakir. The awful incident took place in Mandir Marg area of New Delhi district. It is said that the duo were friends who worked together at a tent house shop in Gol Market area. On Monday, in the evening around 8:15 pm, a police control room (PCR) had received a call regarding the incident following which an Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV) was dispatched for the spot. The victim was hurried to hospital where he succumbed to death, police said. In additional police also said that the duo were consuming alcohol. While drinking the duo got into pretty argument over meagre issue for which the enraged Mohammed Zakir hit the head of Jeevan several times with a brick. The injured man was found lying on the footpath while the accused fled from the spot. On receiving call police rushed to the spot and had him admitted in Ram Monohar Lohia hospital. Earlier, Police had filed a case against him under the section 308 of the Indian Penal Code at Mandir Marga Police station based on the statements given by witness. Following the arrest, on Tuesday police once again registered a case under section 302 of the India Penal Code. Yet, further investigation is going on for further clarification. ]]>
