Durgapur: Three criminals of Paschim Bardhaman Asansol Durgapur got arrested by Durgapur Police on Wednesday night who was involved in committing robbery in a doctor’s house in Ambuja of Durgapur’s City Center.
Mr. Abhishek Gupta IPS Deputy Commissioner of Police, Durgapur while addressing the press conference regarding this incident said: This robbery was carried out by three youths of the Jemuya area ten days ago. The Durgapur police immediately moved into action and arrested Sheikh Sukur, Imran Khan and Sheikh Abid from Jemuya.
Mr. Gupta said that Sheikh Sukur is the mastermind of this incident. He provoked Imran, who works at the home of a doctor, Suraj Chandra Pramath, for this crime. On the day of the incident, at about 3 pm in the afternoon, all the three accused came to the doctor’s house with their faces covered. When the door was opened, they entered the house and stole jewelry and cash worth Rs. 33,000 and two mobiles showing the knife.
The police officer added that the police solved this matter with the help of CCTV cameras and police reports. Police have so far recovered around Rs.14,000 cash, ornaments, and Sheikh Sukur’s bike used in the incident. Also, the T-shirt worn by the accused at the time of the incident has also been recovered by the police. The Police would seek a ten-day remand of the accused from the court. The police officer appealed to the local businessmen to install CCTV cameras outside their shops so that in case of any incident, it would be easy to investigate the matter.
