Nagapattinam: In Nagapattinam, a meeting was convened at the District Police Office on 06.03.2024, chaired by Mr. Harsh Singh IPS, the District Superintendent of Police. The discussion encompassed various aspects of election management, including the regulation of tobacco sales, record-keeping protocols for police stations, and arrangements for accommodating security personnel during the upcoming Parliamentary General Elections of 2024. Additionally, strategies were devised to address concerns such as the proliferation of drugs in the Nagai district and the involvement of ex-military personnel, former police officers, NSS, and NCC members in election security measures. Discussions also focused on enhancing connections for election-related tasks and improving register maintenance in police stations. The District Superintendent of Police instructed relevant officers to promptly submit reports to bolster security at polling stations in sensitive areas of the Nagai district. Furthermore, directives were issued to expedite pending cases and ensure all necessary precautions for the forthcoming parliamentary elections. The meeting was attended by police officers from various stations in the Nagai district, as well as police station clerks and representatives from the food safety department.
