Bhopal: The 76th anniversary of Indian independence will be celebrated with enthusiasm and pomp. In the state capital Bhopal, the Independence Day main function will be held at Lal Parade Ground on August 15 under the chief hospitality of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The full dress parade and final rehearsal of the Independence Day celebrations took place at Lal Parade Ground here on Sunday in the presence of Director General of Police Mr. Sudhir Saxena.
Director General of Police Mr. Sudhir Saxena, Additional Director General of Police Mr. Farid Shapu and Collector Bhopal Mr. Ashish Singh and other officers reviewed the arrangements for the Independence Day celebrations. During the final exercise of the full dress parade, 7th Battalion’s head constable Mr. Ramchandra Singh Kushwaha symbolically acted as the chief guest and inspected the parade after flag hoisting, national tune and salutes by the parade and read the message. After that the program was completed by immersion of the parade.
The final exercise parade was led by Ms. Sonakshi Saxena, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Indore, Indian Police Service. The role of Assistant Parade Commander was performed by Deputy Superintendent of Police, ATS Bhopal Mr. Rahul Kumar Saiyam. A total of 18 contingents including the police band participated in the joint exercise parade. These include the Rajasthan State Police Force, Special Armed Forces (Northern Zone), Women’s Special Armed Forces, District Force and Joint Contingent of Railways, Hawkforce, STF, District Police Force, Jail Department, Government Railway Police, Municipal Army (Home Guard), N.C.C.(Senior Wing Girls), N.C.C.(Senior Division), Guide Girls, Scouts Boys, Shaurya Dal, Ladli Bahna and Ashwarohi Dal.
After reciting the symbolic message, 64 officers and employees and two other dignitaries who received the President’s Medal also practiced receiving medal decorations from the chief guest. In the end, the parade commander and the platoon commanders of all the parties involved in the parade also practiced to introduce themselves to the chief guest. During the exercise, traffic, parking and all other arrangements of the stadium, including the movement of citizens and security arrangements, were also closely examined. Senior officers of the district administration and Bhopal police along with senior officers of police headquarters were present on the occasion.
