Gang smuggling wildlife parts caught by Indore police, around 70 Lakh Rupees seized

Indore: On 20 November 2021 Indore Police was directed by Deputy Inspector General of Police, Indore (City) Mr. Manish Kapuria IPS to take effective action to stop the smuggling of wild animals and animals in the district. The team had received information regarding the smuggling of wildlife in the Khudail area through the informer system that some people are trying to sell leopard skins and nails.

On the information received, joint action was taken by Crime Branch and Khudail police station and arrested five persons Champalal Kannauje, Shahrukh, Ahmed Raza, Yasin Ali, Salim Khan. On search of the accused, leopard skin, 8 nails were found, a heavy gun, a two-wheeler were seized and a crime was registered in the Khudail police station. On interrogation, the leopard was hunted by the accused Champalal Kannauje and removed the skin and nails. Gave the skin and nails to his other four fellow smugglers to sell for lakhs of rupees. In this regard, the remand of the arrested accused will be interrogated, in which the arrest of more smugglers is possible.
